Unlike clipping, it removes the dead outer coat by hand, helping to preserve the coat's natural appearance, encourage healthy coat growth and maintain its weather-resistant qualities.

How many treatments will my dog need?

Every dog is different, so the number of treatments recommended will depend on their current oral health.

Following your assessment, I'll discuss my findings and recommend a personalised treatment plan that's tailored to your dog's individual needs.

As a general guide:

• Stage 1 (Plaque): Typically 2–4 treatments before moving onto maintenance appointments.

• Stage 2 (Tartar): Typically 8–10 treatments before moving onto maintenance appointments.

Maintenance appointments are usually recommended every 2–4 weeks, depending on your dog's oral health and home care routine.

Is my dog suitable?

Every dog must undergo an Oral Health Assessment before beginning Emmi-Pet treatment. This allows me to assess your dog's oral health, discuss any concerns and determine whether treatment is appropriate.

If I identify any concerns that require veterinary attention, or believe Emmi-Pet treatment isn't in your dog's best interests, I'll always explain my findings and advise you before proceeding.

Please note: Emmi-Pet is designed to support good oral hygiene and help reduce plaque and tartar. It is not a substitute for veterinary dental treatment where this is required.
